Buddhism and Air Hockey

Dear Sir Teddy and Lord Rascal,

These are my new names for you and I think you will like them!  I have decided to continue my travels and have landed at the home of a very nice family.  Their house was like others I have visited lately except for one thing and I discovered I am actually pretty good at it.

Air Hockey!  At first, I was unprepared for the blast of air from beneath me and I almost took off flying without reason.  You can't see it in the picture but I had some of my new friends tape coins to the bottom of my feet. This helped keep me "in the game!"

After a long game I needed to relax and found another visitor when I went outside.

He was sitting so peacefully and I flew over to him and greeted him with a swish of my tail and flap of my wings.  He smiled and told me how happy he was that I came along! Imagine that!
He then asked me if I could light his candles for him. I of course was eager to be helpful, as dragons are.  I blew a tuft of flame at the candles and they were lit.  Buddha and I spent the rest of the evening looking at the stars.

"Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared." Buddha said this to me.

I hope you are all well, Please tell the nice Lady you live with I miss her home made cookies.

Best,
Sir Tully Tinder

Tully's Vacation

Sir Tully Tinder is having so much fun on his current adventure!  His traveling partner made him a scarf so he would be warm and cozy. I think he looks very handsome!

Tully is pretty thrilled about his scarf and hasn't taken it off.

Tully was fascinated by the clouds and said he had never flown that high! His Grandfather used to tell his lil Grand Dragon Son stories when he was just out of his egg. Apparently, Granddad could fly so high that the world looked like a "moldy blueberry."

This little dragon is getting the chance to try all kinds of new things on his trip.  He got up really early one morning and traveled to a Flower Mart in the city.  This is a place where people can come and purchase flowers and plants from all over the world.  It is full of colors, wonderful smells, textures and sounds.

Tully said, though he was pretty comfy, he preferred a real bed over a bed of flowers.  I think he really blends in!

After a long day he is always up for trying new foods. Here he is mixing his soy rice crackers with hummus.  He has a great appetite and really enjoys his snack time.

Going to news places, trying new things and meeting new people is a treat and Tully seems to be enjoying every second of his adventure!

XO,
Travelin' Tully

Bon Voyage Tully!

Sir Tully Tinder is SO excited today!
He is going on a vacation! I don't get to go but it is very fun to help him get ready for his big trip.  My little dragon has never traveled without me or Teddy and Rascal before unless you count his trip from his cloud to my car.

Dragons do not usually have a suitcase but I want Tully to have all the comforts of home with him.  I am a Mom and once you have spent any time doing that Best Job Ever you can't let it go.

I let him choose whatever he wanted to use and he chose this coin purse from my Great Aunt.  He liked the tiger on it.  I love this little purse because it is pretty and sentimental to me. I know he will take good care of it. He is such a nice little dragon.

It is the perfect size for his glasses! This way he can read on the airplane.  That's right he gets to go on a plane! I need to make sure he has a good book.

I am looking forward to hearing about and seeing pictures from his travels.  What will Teddy and Rascal do without their little buddy? What will I do? He makes me smile and the cats always play with him.  But being able to travel anywhere - 2 blocks or 2000 miles from home is a treat and an amazing chance to explore the world and meet interesting people.  Tully is off on a great first adventure.

Sir Tully Sniffles

Tully is under the weather today.

I knew he was getting sick when he went to light the barbecue for me and all he could muster was a puff of smoke and a sniffle.  Poor little dragon.

Wish him well while he is snuggled up with a good book. Tully will be back to adventuring next week!

A Dragon Yarn

Sir Tully loved painting so much he has decided to learn more crafts.

I gave him several other options; sewing, scrap booking, making bracelets. He picked crochet. I would never have thought that would be it. I thought his claws would get in the way but he loves it!

I keep a bag of yarn near my couch so my hobby is always close by.  I let my little dragon choose some colorful yarn to work with.

He loved the blue and then Tully began to "explore his space" with his new ball of yarn.  I let him play for a while as I had some work to do myself.  I assumed he would stay on the nice green carpet.

But, as he is a playful fellow he could not resist waking Teddy up from his Cat Nap to have some fun.
Teddy was not thrilled but he settled in and they had a good time.

I was able to get this picture right before it became a yarn nightmare.

I am not sure Sir Tully will be great at crocheting but he certainly is happy to be trying something new. That is really the point though, isn't it? To try new things every now and then.

You can put yarn on almost anything! There are creative people out there who add yarn to objects already outside.

Sir Tully Tinder says, "GO MAKE SOMETHING! Then, play with the cat :)"

Hugs,
Tully, Teddy and Rascal

Paint Master Tully

Sir Tully likes to explore and he loves looking at the pictures I have on my wall.  I am very lucky because I am part of a wonderfully creative family.  My brother painted this picture of a dog I had when I was younger. Her name was Petula and she was so silly.  This picture is exactly what she looked like.

Charles Forrester

This past weekend, Tully and visited my Mom and he saw this in my bedroom.  There is a huge window that looks out on a green garden. Someone had been painting at my desk and this is what was left. When you paint there are times when you want to test the colors on your brush.  Tully liked this very much and has now decided he should paint too!

I have a box set of paint at my house so when we got home Tully insisted I get them out so he could get to work! He picked out a green that matches his dragon scales right away.

I also had an artificial flower in my art box. Do you have an art box? I keep all kinds of supplies in there so I always have something I can do or create.  Tully picked the flower for his picture. It reminded him of my Mother's garden.

You know what I think? I think it does not matter how Tully paints or how his flower looks because to him it is exactly as he sees and feels it.

Be Creative!
