Beach Adventure With Tully - Part 2

It is raining today so I am glad Tully and I could go to the beach last week! He is still chatting about it.

Sir Tully has great skills when it comes to sports. Dragon are very quick to learn and are good sports!

I was so impressed when he caught the ball in air and landed with it in his wings!

You all know Sir Tully likes ALL animals. Well, he saw this little honey bee struggling in the water so i walked over and it climbed onto my shoe.  I carefully walked with my toe pointed upwards a bit to safer higher ground.

Tully found a safe, warm and dry shell for his new fellow flying friend to recoup on. Mr. Bee immediately began wiggling around to dry off.

Tully has never seen a Sand Dollar before. He has heard that they are coins lost by mermaids.

The interesting thing is I have shells at home and they are all white. But, did you know that Sand Dollars are darker (where I live they are actually a beautiful shade of purple) when they are alive?

I cannot believe I filmed one moving!

The underside of a Sand Dollar has all these little spine like (not sharp) protrusions that allow it to move, burrow and move their food along their bodies. I could feel them on my hand.

Sand Dollars like to burrow down into the sand to be safe. There are two of them in this picture - can you find them?

Sir Tully was very hungry after our day of fun at the beach. He decided to try some seaweed (this is kelp) and he loved it!

Have an Adventurous Day!

Beach Adventure With Tully - Part 1

Tully is a good boy. He waits so patiently for me (unlike Teddy and Rascal) to finish my work so we can hang out together.

Yesterday was so beautiful outside that I decided to take a break and take him somewhere he has never been.

The Beach!

Oh, he had so much fun that I have to write his story in two parts!

The first thing Tully saw was this sign.  I explained it meant "no dogs allowed." He quickly (dragons are so smart) asked me if I could bring Teddy and Rascal next time.  We had a quick discussion of how cats use sand.

He enjoyed flying from post to post. There were a lot of seagulls and a few pelicans that could be seen quite nicely from this vantage point.

It is always a treat to see someone or a dragon experience something for the first time.  Sir Tully walked right into the water! He is very brave. His wings were flapping in the tide.

We quickly discovered that although he is a TERRIFIC creature in flight, he has not yet mastered swimming.  I soaked my shoes running after him in the waves! He sputtered and exclaimed that he loved it! Amazing attitude Tully has!

Sun bath time!  I had to make him a towel as I do not have any that are his size. He thought this looks like a magic carpet. How appropriate for him as he is a flyer too!

Suncreen was fun.  He got it everywhere! But, it is important even for a dragon.

More next week when Sir Tully meets some new critters!

Now go outside and have an adventure!

Glasses

This is Noah.

He has new glasses.

Tully thinks he is really cool.

Dragons are avid readers and love to learn and Sir Tully is no exception.  He even has his own library card now!

He was such a ham when it came time to take his picture.

Last week, Tully was reading his new books and was squinting a lot.  I reminded him that he should wear his glasses but he was stubborn about it. Then he read about Noah.

He is four and inspired Tully to be proud of his glasses! I think he looks great and I think his smile says it all, don't you?

Noah has a wonderful Facebook page and he is getting a lot of fun and supportive pictures and comments from all over the world.  He reminds Tully and I that we all have something in common if we just take a moment to look.

Well, off to get Tully a new book!

Cheers!
